Linda Dawning was resting on a bench in the evening on the outskirts of Central Park after a successful deal with a small insignificant and inferior gang. She sat with her legs crossed and with a lit cigarette in her mouth as she flicked through the money in her hand. She smirked to herself as she counted up the exact amount she had requested.
The sound of glass shattering broke through the normal bustling noises of the city as a window of a bar broke across the street from where Linda sat. The Dawning woman looked up in time to see a man in a red shirt and black waistcoat get up off the ground. Linda tilted her head as she watched the man brush the crumbling glass off his suit after being thrown through the window. She smiled slightly upon finding the whole scene amusing. “Two more days, Ms. Dawning! Two more, please!” A shop owner begged of the woman in a tight, three piece dress suit and black fedora. Her black hair was pulled into tight curls with one loose piece hanging in front of her cold blue eyes. Ms. Linda Dawning grinned evilly at the shop owner, making the poor man cower behind his counter.
“It’s been three weeks now,” Linda pointed out with a smirk. “But, we’ll let you go.” She strolled out of the little shop, leaving the owner dumbfounded as to why he wasn’t dead yet.
Outside in the late afternoon light, the redhead woman was standing near the shop entrance with a cigarette in her mouth and an empty gasoline can in her hand. She tilted her head towards the shop door as it swung open, revealing her sister.
“Did you soak the back room, Maria?” Linda asked as she met up with the redhead.
